I also offer a Valve Amp Service specialising in vintage and hand wired models. I also work on some vintage solid state amps such as Acoustic and Sunn.
Not every vintage amp needs ‘re-capping’. I have worked on amps from the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s and often the power supply capacitors are fine, Sometimes not. Each one is case by case. In some cases a Fender Hot Rod deluxe from 2008 will need to be completely recapped. But I will not push replacing every component to make your amp ‘Better’. I do only what is necessary to get each amplifier functioning at its intended potential. I offer some reversible mods that don’t involve drilling holes and chassis modifications that will not compromise the value of your amp.
General Service + Fault Diagnosis From $100
Includes testing all valves, re-bias of output valves (if needed), pots and socket cleaning and full function test of amplifier. Any fault diagnosis and further quoting on repairs.
