ABOUT

Rick Wallett, operator of Vertigo Instruments, is a Brisbane based luthier offering repair services out of his private workshop in Annerley. Catering to Electric and Acoustic setups and repairs, along with Valve Amplifier servicing.

From building his first guitar at age 15 to becoming a certified luthier, completing his Master Class at the world renowned Brian Galloup School Of Luthiery in 2014, he has diversified his skill set to provide a premium repair service. He is inspired by the classic instruments and sounds of the 50's, 60's and 70's from Rockabilly and Jazz, to Heavy Metal and Punk Rock, creating tonally diverse instruments made to withstand the test of time.

He has been a gigging guitarist in Brisbane for the past 13 years and supported a variety of Local and International bands such as Sleep, High On Fire, Spencer P Jones (Beasts Of Bourbon), Church Of Misery, Corrosion Of Conformity, Uncle Acid & The Deadbeats and Yob.

A 'setup' is integral to all instruments, even when brand new. This will enhance and maintain the playability with respect to string gauge and tuning (de-tuning especially) and the playing style of the owner. Additionally, this will ensure not only the longevity of your instrument, but enable you to get the most out of your playing and musicality of your guitar or bass. 

New or old, cheap or expensive all instruments can be improved with a fresh setup and a little TLC.

You can provide your own strings or I can supply standard strings at $18 for guitar or from $50 for bass.
